# Add your menus

Menus are managed in your Shopify admin under **Online Store → Navigation**, not in the theme editor. The theme displays whichever menu you point it at.

## Which menus Roomfolk uses

| Menu | Where it appears | Set in |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| Main menu | The header, on desktop and in the mobile drawer | [Header](/roomfolk/global-sections/header.md) |
| Footer menus | The footer columns                              | [Footer](/roomfolk/global-sections/footer.md) |

## Three levels of menu

Roomfolk supports nested menus three levels deep.

* **One level** — a plain link in the header.
* **Two levels** — a short dropdown under that link.
* **Three levels** — a full-width panel, with each second-level item becoming a column heading and its children listed beneath it.

The theme chooses between the short dropdown and the full panel on its own, based on how deep your menu goes. There is no setting for it.

## Building a three-level menu

1. Go to **Online Store → Navigation** and open your main menu.
2. Add a top-level item, for example **Shop**.
3. Add items underneath it — **Living room**, **Bedroom**, **Kitchen**. These become the column headings.
4. Add items under each of those. These become the links in each column.

## On keyboard and touch

The panel opens on hover for mouse users and on focus for keyboard users, and closes with the Escape key. On a touchscreen, the first tap on a top-level item opens its panel rather than following the link — tap the item again, or use the links inside, to navigate.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.lufavo.com/roomfolk/getting-started/menus.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
